Miller Special Indy 500 Winner 1928

May is Indy month for the most part, with the Indy Racing series come to the Brickyard for just about the whole month, testing, preparing for the big race at the end of the month. I have always had an affinity for the Indy cars. Team pushing the envelope to get more speed and endurance from their cars. For years it was practically and unlimitedĀ  event. Bring what you got, engine mods, aero packages and new innovations. Now it is more of a cookie cutter form of racing. Mandated engines, body styles and aero packages make it less innovative and more driver /team$$$ driven. Still a spectral none the less. 2.5 miles of speed and endurance, team strategy. Here is an new car caricature to ring in May and looking forward to the 100th running of the Indy 500. This one is the 1928 winner driven by Louis Meyer. It is a Miller Special. Miller race cars dominated this time period. I hope to do the 1936 winner just in time for the 2016 winner. Maybe I will put both on one print.
