Just one more for today… F-15C in the colors of the 8th FW in Vietnam…. “Scat 2011” in honor of Gen. Olds. We never really saw the Eagle in SWA Scheme so here you go.

One of the few aircraft lacking the Navy’s cenntenial of flight paint schemes was the E-2 Hawkeye (at least I have yet to see one) here is my version. A Midway patrol plane scheme for VAW-113.

The F-22 proclaimed the USAF’s “Silver Bullet” a hoped for unbeatable fighter here in a Pre-war 1941 scheme. Imagine seeing current fighters in OD green…. Maybe the Top Gun/Red Flag boys will use them seeing as they are in colorful schemes anyway.

Here are a couple of more Heritage Schemes for USAF… first a B-52G, commemerating 91st BG and Memphis Belle. Would be interesting to see flying around….

Was inspired by another artist to create a “What if” paint scheme for one of my caricatures. A licensed built version of the Westland Wyvern. A 1950’s British carrier attack plane. The Wyvern actually say combat in the Suez Coinflict in the 50’s. Here she is in the scheme of VA-146 Blue Diamonds and built in partnership with Boeing.
A unique What If…

Just put the finishing touches on a new caricature this week. A C-47A from the 435th Troop Carrier Group and the 75th TCS. This particular aircraft was lost on Sept. 19,1944 after releasing a Glider over the LZ near Son. They were returning to base when they were hit by AA fire and spin in. No chutes were seen. Pilot: 1st LT. Romie Alexoff. CP: 2nd Lt. Leonard S Osborne, CC: T/Sgt Hans A. Brunisholz, RO: S/Sgt. Orville H. Thompson. There may have carried a nose art with the name “Sugar Blues”. Still looking for more details on that.

After doing several of my caricatures dressed in heritage markings for the Naval Centennial… I thought it would be fun to do the same thing to USAF aircraft. Here is a F-15C (mig killer) in 1930’s P-26 paint scheme… 95th Pursuit Squadron, 17th Pursuit Group, March Airfield.

Here is another “Heritage Scheme” for another F-15C Mig killer from the Gulf War. This one is 94th Pursuit Squadron, 1st Pursuit Group, Selfridge Field, Mich. in the 30’s.

I would love to see a few Eagles rockin a retro scheme like these. Here is a basic pre war scheme. All the Eagle “Heritage Schemes” I applied to Gulf War Mig killer Eagles. Who out there would out like to see this flying around the pattern?
