Okay here is an updated caricature I did awhile back. This time with background and a little bit of action. In her element…. Blue Angel #5 goes vertical. Remember prints are available for those looking for that unique holiday gift idea.

Now that I have done a regular side profile, I had to add one of my caricatures along side to compare. Here are two versions of the P-51D ‘Dolly/Spam Can’ from the Planes OF Fame Air Museum.

Okay with all the caricatures I do I thought it might be time to try a regular proportioned side profile. So here you go. A P-51D Mustang from the Planes Of Fame Air Museum in Chino CA. Their work horse Mustang has been Spam Can for years. I was lucky enough to have a ride in this fine bird. Now she is painted to represent the Pacific Theater where she actually flew. The Museum has painted her as the mount of Capt. John J Grant’s “Dolly” with Spam Can retained on the right side. Hope you like this regular side profile.

While working on a few commissions for clients I thought I would create a “possible Paint scheme” for VMFA-121 Green Knights when they start flying the F-35B. VMFA-121 is scheduled to be the first operation squadron to field the F-35B, and will be based at MCAS Yuma. I think the CO’s bird would look cool with these markings. What do you think.
