After seeing the proposed paint scheme for Furias, the big Seafury Air Racer I just had to paint up my caricature to match. Here is what she should look like once paint is completed by the crew. Lets all hope she gets to show it off next year at the races. She looks to be a very promising racer. Much kuddos to the crew for all their dedicated ahd hard work getting her to the races.

Here is my latset Air Racer… the big Seafury Furias. She qualified at this years Reno Air Races with a speed of 462.190, (fifth overall if I am not mistaken). Here she is in the paint scheme she had this year as she was just out of the shop from all the race prep. Look for her to soon appear in racing colors.

Another speed demon for your amusment. This time a blast from the past. The Me-209 V1 prototype that set the absolute speed record in 1939 at 469.22. A record mind you that stood until 1969!

Keep up with the air racing theme for this month, my latest caricature is very different. The Daily Mail Transatlantic Air Race is one where you take a peice of mail from either London to New York (Empire State Building) or from New York to London. In 1969 an Royal Navy F-4K flew the fastest time when attempting the New York to London run. 4 hrs 46 min and change from pick up to delivery, which set a record, and won the the race. So here you go he F-4K record setter from 892 sq. flown by Lt Cdr Davies and Lt Cdr Goddard RN.

Next up is Capt. Steve Ritchie’s double MiG killing F-4E from 1972. Both kills where with AIM-7 Sparrows. These where Ritchie’s third and fourth kills (all MiG-21’s) on his way to 5 and Ace status.

Well I know I have been doing the Air Racing theme this month but I have also been working on some Phabulous Phantoms as well. I know there are some Phantom lovers out there so here you go. First up a Hellenic AF F-4E. I really like this bird ever since I saw on in the Smoke Trails Mag. This is my first “E” Phantom so I hope you enjoy it.

Keeping with the Air Racing theme as it is only a few days to Reno…. here is one of my favorites for the early days. The first Seafury to race at Reno and one of the first highly modified racers to dance around the sticks. Miss Merced.

With the National Championships only 10 days away here is my latest racer….. going for a fourth title in a row…. and tenth over all….. the Witch herself Strega.
Gotta love the fastest motorsport in the world!
