Here is another Formula 1 Air Racer, this time the Swiss Air Racing team’s entry, “Scarlet Screamer”. The team finished third in the gold race Sunday at the Reno National Championships. Way to go.

Just finished a new caricature and keeping with the Air Racing theme this racer is from the 50’s and raced in the Goodyear Trophy races. Entered in the 1951 race she was sideline with propeller hub issues. Here is how she appeared in 1955. The Loving Williams WR-1 racer, “Loving’s Love”. Unique in that to avoid the fixed gear hanging out they used an inverted gull wing to incorporate the gear into the wing. Something that today you can see on the F1 racer September Fate, who with a modern take used the same principle. I will have a version of Sept. Fate soon.

Got so caught up in watching the live feed from the races and watching football I forgot to post the Air Racing Sports Card of the day. Here is card #11 the Red Baron.

Today’s Air Racing Sports Card #10.

Here is today’s Air Racing Sports Card #9. This is a Gone but not Forgotten card in memory of Howard Pardue and his venerable XF8F Bearcat. Mr Pardue was a long time racer and airshow pilot who never failed to thrill the race fans. — with Leigh Pardue Murray.

Here is a special print I was working on today while watching the races at Reno on live feed. Here is my caricature of the Sea Fury Argonaut, out on the course…. rounding a pylon. Let me know what you think.

Here is today’s Air Racing Sports Card #8. Affectionately know as the Buick, Dreadnaught. A former National Champion, this aircraft has been a regular at Reno for many years.

Here is another new caricature, this time Argonaut a Hawker Sea Fury owned by Sanders Aviation and raced at Reno. She also is a regular air show performer.
