Here is the latest caricature from BHA the mighty F7F from Grumman. The Tigercat was a fast single seat fighter, then two seat night fighter versions that saw time in Korea. This caricature is a VMF-312 bird that was used for instrument training (reason for the strips) while based out of El Toro MCAS.

Okay here we have something completely different. From the Blackheart Art Archives, that special underground vault that holds all the images we have taken, found at garage sales and flea market tables, as well as the many reference pictures used to create all our caricatures, we present a rare find. Here is a photo of a Grumman F9F Panther, from VF-781, while deployed on the USS Bon Homme Richard, high over Korea searching for Migs. circa 1951

I also found JG-74’s 50th Anniversary paint scheme on one of their EF-2000 Typhoons. Pretty colorful tail markings. So I did a version with background and graphics. I even added a bit of texture to look like watercolor paper. Something slightly different.

Was working an a couple of versions of my Eurofighter caricature. Here is a German EF 2000 from JG-74 based at Nuerburg. They sent 8 Typhoons to Red Flag Alaska. During the work up they had a chance to play with the Raptors… and had a few kills during close in Air ACM. This Typhoon had 3 kill markings.

The latest caricature out of the Blackheart Art workshop is the Eurofighter’s Typhoon. The subject of this caricature is 17(R) Squadron, the RAF Test and Evaluation Sq. Back in 2010 they were at Nellis AFB for trials and also visited the Miramar Air Show where I had the opportunity to photograph them. I have the caricature in the following squadrons so far 3,6,11,29 squadrons. I will have a Luftwaffe and Spanish soon. All you Typhoon drivers prints are available. The German one will be the birds that smoked the F-22’s at Red Flag Alaska just a few months ago.
